There is a lot of fiction set in Bangkok in the 1990s and 2000s, and as someone who lived there throughout this period, I am always interested to read them. Killing Time in Bangkok stands out against all the other Bangkok based thrillers as a highly entertaining yet authentic work that also depicts the scene in Bangkok accurately and colorfully. The scenes jump right out at me, as do the characters, who could fit many actual individuals that I personally came across during my stay in the city. Good read for a new author.
This is a terrific book, a full immersion experience of Bangkok, as only a native could write it. Both exhilarating and insightful, it’s a thrill ride that also teaches you about what’s going on behind the scenes in the most exotic city in the world. You’ll have a hard time putting it down.
